Welcome to Jamuhuri. The new constitution is on the horizon and many Kenyans are not absolutely sure of what kind of political system we should have other than what our politicians are telling us.
I am going to embark on a journey of discovery, to find out what could be best for us, as a nation. The one party system did not work for us, the multi party system with unaccountable government has proved unworthy and now we have a coalition government with a split and ambiguous power base.
We need a government that is at foremost stable with clear cut responsibilities for all branches of government. Politicians are there to protect the interests of their constituents and in general the citizens of our country, therefore, they must perform their duties within clear set boundaries unlike what we presently have.
So what am I proposing, the following branches of government at present are not functioning within their realms of power and responsibilities to the extent we expect them to.
I will explain the present way of doing business and what could be done to improve the system.
First and foremost I will start with the Parliament then the Executive.
